Legislative Summary
To (1) allow any political subdivision of the state, including a municipality or regional council of governments, to hold a referendum to establish or join a municipal electric company, (2) establish a quasi-public entity known as the "Connecticut Public Transmission Authority" to acquire existing electric transmission assets from private entities at fair market value and to own, operate and maintain such assets in the state, and (3) establish a nonprofit entity known as the "Connecticut Public Power Corporation" to generate class I renewable energy sources in the state.
