Legislative Summary

Authorizes certain veterinarians to practice veterinary telemedicine; provides jurisdiction of Board of Veterinary Medicine; authorizes veterinarian practicing telemedicine to order, prescribe, or make available specified medicinal drugs; prohibits such veterinarian from ordering, prescribing, or making available controlled substances unless certain conditions are met; revises grounds for disciplinary action against veterinarian; authorizes certain employees, agents, or contractors to administer rabies vaccinations; provides that supervising veterinarian assumes responsibility for any person working under veterinarian's supervision or at his or her direction; authorizes veterinarian who indirectly supervises administration of rabies vaccination to affix his or her signature stamp in lieu of actual signature on rabies vaccination certificate.
