HB2464: INS-HEALTH/NEONATAL COST SHARE

Legislative Summary

Amends the Accident and Health Article of the Illinois Insurance Code. Provides that if a beneficiary, insured, or enrollee receives neonatal intensive care from a nonparticipating provider or nonparticipating facility, a health insurance issuer shall ensure that the beneficiary, insured, or enrollee shall incur no greater out-of-pocket costs than he or she would have incurred with a participating provider or a participating facility, as long as the nonparticipating provider or nonparticipating facility bills the neonatal intensive care as emergency services.
