SB993: Relating to firearms.

Legislative Summary

Creates crime of unlawfully pointing a firearm at another person. Creates crime of unlawfully pointing a firearm at another person. Punishes by maximum of five years' imprisonment, $125,000 fine, or both. Creates crime of unlawful carrying of a handgun. Punishes by maximum of five years' imprisonment, $125,000 fine, or both. Increases penalties for crimes of criminal trespass while in possession of firearm, negligently wounding another person with firearm, unlawful possession of firearm, discharging firearm at train and discharging firearm across airport operational surface. Punishes by maximum of five years' imprisonment, $125,000 fine, or both. Directs Department of State Police to establish and maintain public database, available on website, of persons convicted of crime involving firearm.
