HB3875: Relating to personal data obtained from a consumer's use of a motor vehicle; prescribing an effective date.

Legislative Summary

Tells a car maker that it must obey the state's privacy laws when getting personal data from a person's use of a car. Takes effect 91 days after the session ends. (Flesch Readability Score: 68.2). Provides that a motor vehicle manufacturer and an affiliate of a motor vehicle manufacturer must comply with the requirements of the state's privacy laws in controlling and processing personal data the motor vehicle manufacturer or affiliate obtains from a consumer's use of a motor vehicle, regardless of the number of consumers from which the motor vehicle manufacturer or affiliate obtains personal data. Takes effect on the 91st day following adjournment sine die.
