HB4454: Allow consumers to opt out of the sale of personal information.

Legislative Summary

The purpose of this bill is to create a consumer right to limit the sale and sharing of his or her personal information. The bill establishes a consumers’ right to opt-out of any sale or sharing of his or her personal information. The bill creates a consumers’ right of no retaliation following any opt-out or exercise of other rights. Finally, the bill provides for methods of limiting sale, sharing, and use of personal information, as well as any use of sensitive personal information.
