HB4596: Relating to the intestate share of a decedent’s surviving spouse

Legislative Summary

The purpose of this bill is to create in the surviving spouse or the minor children of a decedent an exempt property allowance not exceeding $15,000 in the tangible items of the decedent which is equal to the exemption from levy which is permitted to living individuals. The bill repeals an antiquated provision providing food and fuel for family members.
