HB2035: Establishing pilot program for Public Guardian Ad Litem Services

Legislative Summary

The purpose of this bill is to create a three-year pilot program relating to West Virginia Public Guardian ad Litem Services, established initially in three circuits, and providing services initially in three circuits. Circuit based West Virginia Public Guardian ad Litem Corporations will be set up and a qualified guardian ad litem will be appointed as legal counsel when there is a conflict that exists within the local guardian ad litem office. This bill sets up the framework of the West Virginia Public Guardian ad Litem Services and establishes oversight over this pilot program.
